What "reproducible" claims here
Health research is where reproducibility is hardest, and for a good reason: the evidence often rests on records that may never be published. So this journal states the standard as as reproducible as the data allow, and then says on every article exactly how far that went. What is rerun is the analysis: the deposited code, over the deposited data or an author-supplied surrogate, regenerating the results as printed. A badge of ✓ Reproduced means that check passed — never that a cohort was re-recruited or a trial re-run. Where only some reported results come back, it reads ◑ Partially reproduced.
Where the underlying records cannot be released — patient data, registers, linked administrative data, data held under a use agreement — the article carries the Privacy-limited badge. That is a state of the evidence, not a demerit: a documented restriction with its access route stated is never treated as a fault here, and an author-supplied anonymised or synthetic surrogate is a first-class route to verification rather than a consolation prize. Every article's reproducibility panel says in words what was checked and what was not, so the badge is never a larger claim than the check behind it. Two channels, never conflated
Your manuscript. Submissions are assessed by a disclosed, multi-agent review engine running on a commercial model API under a data processing agreement with EU standard contractual clauses: manuscripts are not used to train models and are deleted under contractual retention limits. Every queued manuscript goes through that path, and we do not pretend otherwise. Manuscripts and anything shipped with them must therefore be de-identified before upload; if identifiable individual-level data are nonetheless found in a submission, the editor stops the assessment, has the material purged, requests its deletion under the contract's retention rule, and contacts the corresponding author.
Sensitive datasets. The imprint's opt-in, separately priced safe-companion-dataset service is a different channel with a different rule: the raw records stay in a controlled environment, never leave it, and never touch a cloud AI model. That promise is about those datasets — not about manuscripts — and this journal will not blur the two. The service is optional, has no bearing on any editorial decision, and is described on data & code availability.
